Small restaurant at end of the beach. Fantastic setting on the beach. Food was of a high standard and chef/ owner was a tremendous character. Didn’t have everything available on the menu but that didn’t matter at all. This was a great experience.

Marinos - an international chef - and his wife Eirini run their little tavern at the beach with enthusiasm and skill. Using their own produce of garden and sea, Marinos prepares traditional greek dishes that are a quite above the usual quality, even on this island of good cooking. My choice at Vathin and one of the best restaurants on the island.

Allez tout au bout de la plage de Vathy après la chapelle du petit port et vous serez récompensés. Dans la plus petite taverne de Vathy, vous serez accueillis par un authentique cuisinier et sa femme, qui travaille avec les produits de sa ferme. Tout est simple et succulent, le tzatziki, la moussaka, la soupe de pois chiches, les haricots, les légumes du jardin, les calamars, le poulpe. Avec en prime le cadre idyllique de la baie et la tranquillité de ce petit établissement.

This is the ultimate beach-side taverna, where you can dip your toes in the water in between courses! Do not be deceived by the small number of tables, the atmosphere here well rewards the walk along to the far end of the bay. As night falls it is a magical experience. The food and wine are largely home produced, superbly cooked by the owner himself, especially the daily recommendations. Marinos and Irini never fail with their warm welcome year after year. This is the real meaning of home cooking!
